What happens in a session?
It’s all up to you. You may come with something specific, or you may like to see what comes to mind and where it takes you. I’ll be with you, working in a way we have agreed.
Is everything totally confidential?
Virtually everything is. However, there are some exceptions linked to your safety and legal aspects that would require me to speak to other organisations. I would try and let you know if I felt I needed to do this so you are kept in the picture. This gets explained in the first session.
How many sessions will I need?
This is a hard one to answer because everyone is different. You can book 'as you go' with no obligation. Depending on your starting point, research is showing that people can start to notice benefits after 6-12 sessions. Sometimes sooner. For more complex or long-standing issues the length of time is often longer. It can be useful to think about a ‘group’ of sessions and then see how you feel. People tend to know when they feel like ending or taking a break.
Do I need to book a similar time and day for my sessions?
Many people do but you can vary this to suit you. Some people have weekly sessions, some every 10 days or so.
